What is granite?
Granite is a solid, durable and natural stone. Granite is a rock that is formed under the earth’s surface from it’s magma, which is composed of a variety of minerals such as quartz, feldspar, and mica. Granite got its name from the latin word “granum” which means grain. This is because it is a course grained mineral.
Where does granite come from?
Granite comes from all over the world. A majority coming from Italy, Brazil, Norway, Spain, Africa, Egypt…(once you choose a granite we can let you know exactly where it comes from)
What are the benefits of granite?
Granite is the countertop of choice. It contains a mixture of natural beauty and elegance. Granite is heat resistant, resilient against scratches and completely unique. There are no two pieces alike. It’s a natural stone, and its beauty is never dated. It’s also very easy to maintain.
Who fabricates the slab for your company?
All of our stone/quartz Slab fabrication is done in house right here in Vancouver WA. The same person who comes out to template your house is the same person who fabricates it, with the help of other employees of course. Then our crew installs it for you. This ensures the ultimate quality for you as a homeowner.
How involved is the home owner throughout the process?
As a Vancouver WA homeowner, we encourage you to be involved. You will hand pick the slabs yourself. We encourage you to be present when we come out to template your project. We go over seam placement with you; where you’d like to round your corners or any other little changes. We’re happy to do anything that will make your project EXACTLY the way you want it.
After the template process, you are invited to visit our shop once we’ve laid your slabs. This way, you can visually see the slabs laid out on the material you’ve chosen, before we cut.
Do you fabricate countertops?
Yes we do fabricate Quartz. We have a showroom full of samples for your selecting process. Quartz is rapidly moving up in popularity for kitchen. We have done our best to represent most quartz selections in our showroom. You’re welcome to come look around our showroom.
Quartz does not very per slab. It’s man-made and consistent in color. The selection process is done in our showroom, or your house. Several of our clients love the urban vibe of quartz. You can really play up the backsplash, if you have a subtle colored natural stone quartz on your countertops in Vancouver WA.
What are our options for backsplashes, if we choose a natural stone countertop slab?
We have a Vancouver WA showroom FULL of eye candy. You are welcome to come browse around and view backsplash options. We offer design assistance. We enjoy helping people make their design vision become a reality. We also offer evening appt’s for your convenience.
How long will my kitchen be torn apart?
If it’s a remodel, we will not tear out your existing countertops until your installation day. It only takes us one day to install natural stone slabs. If you’ve chosen a tile backsplash, we typically schedule those for the following day. Backsplashes can take 1-3 days depending on how much backsplash you have, and the material you choose.
A slab backsplash (4″-6″ is common), will be done the same day we install the kitchen countertops.

Yes. We ENCOURAGE DIY project lovers in Vancouver WA! You are more than welcome to purchase tile from us at our Vancouver WA showroom and install it yourself. We can help you find exactly what it is your looking for.
Cleaning Natural Stone Countertops
Only use mild dish soap and a soft cloth. You can also use vinegar, diluted with water, with a soft cloth (1 part vinegar to 3 parts water).
For daily cleaning of natural countertops made of quartz, we recommend using a mild dish soap and a soft cloth.
Please note: sealing quartz products is not recommended.
Sealing Natural Stone
The first question you should ask yourself, does my natural stone countertops need to be resealed?
Here’s a basic test to perform. Sprinkle water on top of your countertops. If the water soaks into the countertops, and does not bead on top, we recommend re-sealing.
You can purchase the sealer from us and do it yourself (it’s an easy Sunday DIY project) Or, we offer a deep clean/seal yearly service (please call for pricing).
